I was able to spend time with Fumika's friends. At the Bon Dori Festival, they were giving out free grapefruit popcicles! Yum!

I got to wear a Yukata to the Bon Dori Festival.

I
ate the biggest mess of cotton candy ever created...
can you say 'refined sugar'? :)
I went to a place in Nagoya to learn about the ancient art of traditional Japanese tie dye-Shibori.

the Kanematsu Family held a party in their home to welcome me to Nagoya

Looks like you are eating a giant dust speck from Horton Hears a Who. Raised my glycemic level just looking at it.
Loved seeing the photos.
Great to see you and the family you are visiting. We'll have to have a shibori demo when you return. I see that Fumika has a large extended family too. Keep adapting! Love, Grandmother
I used to eat a lot of cotton candy we even bought a machine to make it when your Dad was young. Now I like popcorn better, specialy when you help pop it. Nana and I are leaving today, I will try to check your blog as often as possible.

I want to tell you that Lightning McQueen likes cotton candy. Tell Tomo I need a hug. Will she give me one to you? I think Mater and Mack are with Japan cotton candy, too. - Sawyer

I love you. No one is babysitting us while you are gone. I will be your friend forever because I love you. Please get me a Japan America doll. I know they have them because they have American girl dolls here. But mom says they don't and if they did have them because I think they do, I cannot have one. I got your letter. I liked it. I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you (all sung as a sweet song) I love you I love you I love. That's all. - Rebekah Anne
